Moscow, Russia – Moscow Fashion Week (MFW) reaches new heights as it brings together an exciting mix of fresh and established talent, announcing a diverse roster of over 120 designers originating from Russia and 10 other countries. Designers from Brazil, Indonesia, China, Egypt, India, Turkey, and South Africa are amongst the vibrant global lineup set to present their latest collections, showcasing the cosmopolitan nature of the rapidly expanding fashion scenario.
Running from March 1st to March 8th, 2024, MFW promises to be an artistic hotbed, reflecting the rich and varied global design aesthetic. The event has become a potent launchpad and international platform especially for creatives from emerging markets. Each designer will bring a unique cultural heritage to the runway. Emre Erdemoglu will showcase elegant Men’s fashion from Turkey. 致画ZHIHUA from China will present down jacket fashion, influenced by eastern culture. NBC brand and Geisha Designs would unveil their latest collections created in the best Indian traditions. AO brand from Brazil will add Latin American flair, while African fashion will take the spotlight with Mastewal Alemu from Ethiopia, Boys of Soweto, and DOPE store from South Africa.
Moscow Fashion Week kicks off with a grand gala featuring up-and-coming Russian designers, who hail from across the expanse of the country, from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok. The gala will be highlighted by a performance from Timati, renowned Russian hip-hop artist, and international collaborator with stars like Snoop Dogg, Craig David, and P. Diddy.
Settled in Europe’s largest city, Moscow Fashion Week stands as a global fashion nexus, uniting celebrated fashion names across diverse countries. The event will unfold amidst the historic architectural gems of Moscow – the Central Exhibition Hall ‘Manege’, located next to the Kremlin, and the spectacular International Russia Expo at VDNH, underscoring Moscow’s architectural majesty.
An assembly of luminaries will attend in support of this global fashion symposium, echoing the grand union of cinema and style. The star-list of Moscow Fashion Week includes: Chinese actress Lily Ji, known for her roles in the international blockbusters Pacific Rim: Uprising and Abduction; Turkish actress Gizem Karaca, famous for her films and TV series Safir and Elli Kelimelik Mektuplar; and guest of honor Italian actress Ornella Muti, who has played roles in the cult films Flash Gordon, Oscar and many others.
Over 100 Russian designers will get the chance to present their collections with a Fashion show, including some fashion icons, such as SERGEY SYSOEV, whose collection is set to captivate the international audience with its unique blend of storytelling and sartorial innovation, Yana Besfamilnaya, who pushes the boundaries of traditional female silhouettes with her transforming garments, and GAPANOVICH reinterpreting traditional Russian costumes with a focus on family and cultural memory.
With a wide media outreach in 50 countries, including locales in Europe and North America, MFW has consistently churned attention. Broadcasted across a host of Russian and international websites, the event draws more than 70,000 spectators and 5 million online viewers seasonally.
MFW extends beyond traditional runway shows to include a professional showroom visited by 300 boutiques from across Russia, an array of lectures and masterclasses, exhibits, and local brand retail expo, along with the World Fashion Shorts festival.
