Get Ready for the 2024 Hollard Daredevil Run: A Bold Step Towards Prostate and Testicular Cancer Awareness
The highly anticipated Hollard Daredevil Run 2024 is just around the corner, and excitement is at an all-time high! Thousands of men across South Africa are preparing to take part in this unique event aimed at raising awareness for prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
Now in its 15th year, the Hollard Daredevil Run will take place on Friday, 1 November 2024. The main event in Johannesburg invites runners to join thousands of other participants at Zoo Lake for a 5km run starting at 3 pm. If you’re outside Johannesburg, you can still be part of this important cause—simply register to run on your own or with a group anywhere in the country. To find out where groups are gathering or to share your run location, follow the Daredevil Run Facebook page.
Why Participate in the Hollard Daredevil Run?
Hollard is committed to making a real impact by encouraging men to talk openly about their health, particularly concerning male cancers, the associated risks, symptoms, and the importance of early detection. By participating in this event, you’re not just running—you’re raising awareness and supporting men in understanding the importance of routine check-ups and screenings.
One previous participant shares, “You saved my life. I had a PSA test at the Hollard Daredevil Run, and they picked up early signs of prostate cancer. I would never have known if it hadn’t been for the run.”
CANSA (Cancer Association of South Africa), one of the beneficiaries of the event, will be offering free PSA tests at Zoo Lake on the day of the run. These tests are critical for early detection and could save lives.
Make a Difference by Running for a Cause
By supporting the Hollard Daredevil Run, you’re helping to raise funds for cancer education, testing, and awareness, particularly in under-resourced communities. Early detection of prostate and testicular cancer can significantly increase survival rates, and every participant in the Daredevil Run plays a role in spreading this life-saving message.
Hollard encourages individuals, corporates, schools, sports clubs, and communities to get involved. Let’s come together to support those who need it most and make a positive impact in the fight against male cancers.
