Spoil dad with a serious spread of all his big favourites
You may have had to miss out on the celebrations last year but Father’s Day feasting in 2021 promises to be sensational, if you know where to go, that is.
Benny Matshazi, manager of Mezepoli Melrose Arch and father of two, says that real food, made with the freshest ingredients and prepared simply with skill is what dads love best: “This is a special occasion – time to celebrate the man of the moment and show him how much he means to you. In our experience, a dad’s top choice is going to be unfussy food that delivers on flavour.”
The Mezepoli menu lends itself to a serious spread of all dad’s big favourites – sardines grilled the Greek island way with coarse salt, perfectly tender lamb loin chops with oregano and the best peri-peri chicken livers in town tick all the boxes.
A plate of fresh oysters to start is always a good idea, and for the man who just has to have a steak, 300g of grilled beef fillet with some golden chips on the side will not disappoint. Add a simple salad, a couple of fresh dips and a basket of soft, warm pita to the meal for a winning combination.
Edward Nyoni, manager at Mezepoli Nicolway and father of three notes that dads who like their pre-lunch drink shaken and not stirred will love the Colossal Olive Martini, while those with a passion for local craft beer and good wines have an extensive selection from which to choose.
“Ending the meal on a sweet note is as easy as brownies and hot chocolate sauce, but the really famous dessert at Mezepoli is the tiramisu – light and fluffy, and laced with the perfect amount of coffee. We are looking forward to welcoming families into our restaurant next weekend to celebrate so many wonderful fathers and what they mean in the lives of their children,” says Edward.
Mezepoli’s open and spacious restaurants make it the perfect place to sit back and connect. The teams continue to strictly observe all Covid-19 safety protocols at all times to ensure that guests can safely relax and enjoy their dining experience.
