Showmax will be launching an exhilarating thirteen-episode series from the Laugh Africa Comedy Festival. The festival, which was powered by Savanna and Showmax, debuted in April 2024 and has been touted as the biggest and most ambitious comedy project ever undertaken on the continent. The series features a stellar line-up of performances by local comedy darlings and includes entertaining and candid behind-the scenes content.

Each episode showcases one comedian, giving viewers a taste of the varying comedic styles & stories of each act. There is also a generous sprinkling of other well-known personalities and rising stars. The thirteen featured comedians include Alfred Adriaan, Celeste Ntuli, Chantal Jaxx, Chris Mopane, Conrad Koch, Dillan Oliphant, Eugene Khoza, Mashabela Galane, Nonto R, Q – Dube, Sifiso Nene, Skhumba Hlophe and Tumi Morake.
What sets the series apart is that it is a superbly packaged snapshot of the Laugh Africa Comedy Festival. The series is a brilliant portrayal of Southern Africa’s thriving comedy landscape and will no doubt illicit roaring, tear-rolling laughter from viewers.
