An Ode to Guess Originals

Think American denim. Now add a splash of sexy, a little sassy and a whole lot of style. What do you have? Guess Originals of course. Last week saw the launch of the Guess Originals 1981 Anniversary collection, and it was quite an event.

The Guess Originals runway wasn’t your ordinary runway. It was the type of runway that made the audience want to get up and get down with the models. Celebration was the theme of the night at Tin Factory, with Rock ‘n Roll music blasting through the speakers, models dancing down the runway and celebrities fan-girling over their favourite designs. It was a perfect fit for the launch of their Anniversary Capsule collection.

The collection itself is a melange of the timeless Guess denim, with a modern flare. With statement Denim Jackets leading some of our favourite looks, and dungarees that look as comfortable as they are stylish, the collection is an ode to Guess Originals of the past. Travel through time with each element of the designs, from the stonewashed denim of the 80’s to the 90’s prints and logos, Guess is taking us on a journey with this collection. It’s been 35 years of Guess Originals, and it’s still so relevant today, which is highly evident in the popularity of the launch.

Guess Girl Hailey Baldwin and Stefano Sala take on being the faces of the campaign, looking iconic in the international campaign, and carrying out the pin-up image that we’ve come to see from Guess all too easily. The campaign shows off the vintage touch to the clothes, but brings it up a level with the styling of the denims and iconic tees. Along with the collection, comes a scent, “1981” by GUESS. An exquisite light fragrance that adequately contrasts the eclectic denim attire.

Here’s to Guess Originals, for continuing to prove to us that they are the ultimate timeless American denim brand. For more on the Anniversary Capsule Collection, head to a Guess Store near you. Trust us, it’s worth it.
